Good Heavens, that jolted a response out of a dormant lurker!

This discussion has moved from Little Jude to the difference between Victorian responses to the cheapness and brutality of life and our own - but we have Africa in front of us daily. Nothing's really changed, apart from the location!
Fascinating stuff, albeit ghoulish - but life is supremely ghoulish!
