Hey Jeanie --you are always one step ahead!

incredible! Bravo --

Now it's time for someone to write a thesis on TH's sound recordings. I
remember a few years back listening to a dramatised reading of MC and being
stunned! I had never before realised how deeply and how conflictfully
(thinking himself her father) Henchard loved Elizabeth Jane --!

We read with so many mental channels racing alongside that it's always a
*wonder* when we hear a new reading and recognise the limitations of our
own onward rushing current. But then it's such a delight -- a thrill, no
less, to hear someone else's reading largely because the text then becomes
truly "Mothering" (unashamedly boasting the title of one of my essays) --in
the sense of spawning so many new lives.

Many thanks Jeanie -- the inspiration is wonderful!

Rosemarie
