[Hardy-l] Jude the Obscure: Page Proofs

Dear All,
 
In response to Dale's question, I can provide an answer: the page proofs for sale are those belonging to the Signet library, Edinburgh.  In addition to the page proofs for Jude, they are also selling their page proofs for the 6d paperback edition of Far from the Madding Crowd.  The auctioneer's guide price for the Jude proofs is GBP 80,000 - 120,000; the estimate for the Madding Crowd proofs is GBP 15,000 to 20,000.

It's been at least a decade since I looked at these proofs, and more than that since a friend (and former graduate student) looked at them.
