Dear all-

I have just uploaded a very stimulating review of Scott Rode's *Reading and
Mapping Hardy's Roads *written by Heather Hawkins*. *I would like to quote
Heather to give you a sneak peak: "Scott Rode's work ... interestingly
explores Hardy's employment of roads as a palimpsest to critique Victorian
class and gender relationships. This stance provides a welcome addition to
the usual discussions of Hardy's Wessex ... Rode discusses the topography of
Hardy's Wessex landscape in its social context, thereby offering a clearer
insight into the cultural climate in which Hardy wrote his fiction."

The review can be accessed on TTHA's Members' Research Resources Page

As you may remember, Heather thoughtfully reviewed *The Hardy Review X. *I
hope you enjoy reading her newest review as well!

All my best,
Kathie
