GREETINGS ALL

Announcement: (Teachers please print this out and pass on to your
students/pupils)

The Thomas Hardy Association is offering a prize for the most
insightful commentary on the Poem of the Month (March to July 2008).

Competition is open to Students at the GCSE & SATS level

Submissions must be posted online on the POTM page with full name
appended.

College/School affiliation must be stated.

We are looking for a critical observation, not more than 500 words,
relevant to the Poem of the Month as posted on the first day of
every month by the director of POTM, Betty Cortus.

Entries may reference authoritative works in parenthesis (do not use
footnotes) but the main emphasis should be on your own thoughts and
critiques.

You may engage with other postings but if you do please document
them fully (ie See Joe Brown, POTM, March 15, 2008)

On June 30, 2008 the entries will be judged by the board of
directors at TTHA.

The Prize awarded will be *The Mayor of Casterbridge* SmartPass audio
guide which comprises 3 CDs, dramatised portions of MC, & study
guides to MC recorded in 46 audio segments. The "blurb" says "Packed
with advice, insight and essential exam hints. SmartPass guides are
the ideal resource for students keen to improve their grades."

GOOD LUCK everyone!

Rosemarie Morgan
President TTHA
