[Hardy-l] Blogs with Hardy interest

For one with a fascination with time -- and to some extent, clocks - (one 
of his first pieces being a skit on the town hall clock, and his putting a 
clock in Mellstock church where none exists at Stinsford) -- it would seem 
that if TH had known of this he wouldn't have been able to resist using it 
in a poem somewhere (putting the clock back? -- one his favorite  motifs -- 
sorry about the implied pun).

  This may be a dreadfully naive question but did mass dials go out of 
production when clocks became commonplace? I'm interested (as was Hardy) in 
the displacement of artifacts by the technologically "new."
