[Hardy-l] Madding Crowd Coming to Region 1 DVD

Here's a little holiday news for Hardy fans in Region One (North America): a good friend of mine recently informed me that John Schlesinger's 1967 film of Far from the Madding Crowd, starring Julie Christie, Terence Stamp, Alan Bates, and Peter Finch, will finally be released on DVD on January 27, 2009.  Pre-orders can be placed at Amazon.  A DVD of the recent serial of Tess, starring Gemma Arterton, will also be released in January, right after it airs on PBS.
