Greetings all -

The Thomas Hardy Association is delighted to be able to congratulate Shanta 
Dutta on her recent promotion to Professor at Jadavpur University (see her 
note below). Shanta has been a TTHA VP since its inception back in 1998, 
and periodically sends news of Hardy in India (posted on TTHA's News 
Updates).Those who met Shanta at HAY will recall her gentle charm and 
sweet, kindly nature; her book (mentioned below) is reviewed on TTHA's Book 
Reviews Page and is clearly a huge success.
