[Hardy-l] woodlanders historical context

Dear Friends,

   At this time I am enjoying Edward Rutherfurd's novel The Forest, which is set quite near "Hardy Country".  One would be hard-pressed to see a distinctive border between Dorset and The Forest  before road signs.  It might interest you.
