Thank you, Kathie.  Right now I don't know what are the plans for possible US airings.  I'm looking into contacting the Beeb directly, but its website is a little daunting--there seems to be a message of, "If you're not press, don't bother contacting us!"
 
I'm not entirely sold on Gemma Arterton yet.  The picture I used is the most "Tess-like" I could find.  Otherwise, she usually appears looking spunky and punky.  I haven't seen her act, but her bona fides from RADA are there.  The proof will be in the pudding, I guess.

Paul, wonderful job!  Do you happen to know if the new production of Tess will be broadcast on PBS in the US?  Hopefully, Masterpiece Classics will continue following the demise of Masterpiece Theater --  such a sad loss!  

You're right, Rosemarie -- Gemma Arterton looks the part with her soulful eyes.
