Thank you Betty.

I had a gut-tish  sense that this limerick was produced by someone for 
TTHA's Seasonal Frolics.

  Dear Bob -- versatile indeed he was. Once on a sunny afternoon he and I 
sat by a lake in Fredonia  making puns on Hardy's more unusual words.  He 
was hilarious -- we laughed ourselves absolutely senseless.
