[Hardy-l] Tess' freedom

Having watched Tess being torn to shreds, as an ad hoc comment, 
merely, on the course of this interesting escalation
about  "lurv" (isn't that an alternative term for "love" or
would it better referred to as alternative usage?)I find it hard 
to estimate who will subside admitting defeat or else 
claiming unfair (academic? advantage.
Following each rally one thinks of the old tennis calls "van in" and 
"van out". Only four can play these days unfortuinately.
