I wonder if anybody with a good knowledge of Hardy's topography can identify
the site of Conjuror Trendle's house, beyond Hermann Lea's uninformative description?
Secondly, the farm buildings beside the Thorncombe Wood car park at Higher Bockhampton,
built by Hardy's Father for Mr Martin of Kingston House are currently known as Greenwood Grange,
but what was the original name of this farm? Old maps & Hardy guides are remarkably reticent
on this subject.
Any help would be much appreciated!

Tony Fincham.
