[Hardy-l] Two Mile Wood

It is not quite done and dusted. The Dorset County Council web site says
"The business case has been submitted to the Department for Transport (DfT),
who will assess whether all statutory processes have been completed and that
the scheme is still value for money before approving funding. The council
expects to learn the decision of the DfT by the end of this year."

There was a case in East Sussex recently where a planning approval involving
ancient woodland was quashed by the government on a point of law (all the
statutory processes had not been completed):

A similar process may be possible with the Weymouth Relief Road (which
Dorset CC claims is much wanted by local residents). I will ask the
Woodland Trust on Monday if they think it is a lost cause

I still have not learned, btw, exactly what the connection is between TH and
Two Mile Coppice other than that he happened to live not far away. Did he
ever mention it under its own name or one of his invented ones?

Rosemarie,

I quite agree with what you are saying but rechecking the web sites,
I think it is too late to do anything about it:

http://www.dorsetforyou.com/index.jsp?articleid=3463

states that contrary to my previous belief, the development has full
planning permission & that the necessary compulsary purchase orders
have been made.
