[Hardy-l] BBC: Tess

Thank you, Robert Goddard, for sending this link.  Unfortunately, we in the USA can't access the video trailer.  But I did notice this comment, which I've copied below, in the text:
 
Kate Harwood, Executive Producer and Controller, Series and Serials for BBC Drama Productions, says: "Arguably Thomas Hardy is the most neglected of our great literary authors, so I'm delighted with the new BBC adaptation of his renowned classic tale of Tess Of The D'Urbervilles."
 
I was surprised that she would think TH the "most neglected," given the several recent film adaptations (granted, not necessarily from the BBC), the several recent biographies, reprints of his novels, etc. etc.
 
Comments, anyone?
 
And I'll look forward to what those of you in the UK think of this new production on Sept. 14.  Sadly, it will take at least some months to cross the pond.
