[hardy-l] Feminine tissue

I just this minute took a quick look at my Victorian Thesaurus (often more
useful than a modern one) and "practically" comes under the heading of
"internal conditions" and includes, intrinsicalness, intrinsicality,
inbeing, inherence, essence, quintessence, essentialness, pith, core,
kernel, lifeblood, derived from within, innate, natural, in the manner born
-- and much more.
So I think our (my?) uncertainty arose from thinking it meant "almost"
(almost as blank as snow). Understood in Victorian parlance makes far
better sense : her beautiful feminine/gossamer tissue , (unpoetically: the
internal vaginal membranes about to be penetrated), are inherently blank as
snow (unmarked, unblemished, pristine).
Carolyn ("naive"? never!) , thanks for opening up this question! I'm
immensely grateful
Rosemarie
