In the Bible God likes the cries of barren women (not necessarily virgins). In fact, if you read a story in the bible about a barren woman, get the hot water ready.

and  i used to read st paula nd he says lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God and dont live by the flesh live by the spirit

Good observations.

Compared to its predecessors this dramatization seemed more generous in its treatment of all the characters -- Alec in particular.  I was pleased with this thoughtful approach.
