	Patrick, my impression is the same as yours--that Hardy had nothing
to say about *Aurora Leigh*; nor is there any evidence I can remember that
he even read it.  I've just spent a few minutes sniffing around in
Millgate's biography, the Letters, and a few other sources, and the only
references I can find to EBB are to the love letters between her and Robert,
and to TH & Emma's visit to her tomb in Florence.  

	It's a shame, too, since I think *Aurora Leigh* is a fine
work--complex and ambitious themes and supple blank verse--and I'd love to
know what Hardy thought of it.
