I too have an unopened bottle of Thomas Hardy's Ale, brewed in July 1977 in 
 advance of the 1978 Hardy Festival in Dorcheaster. I believe there was an  
earlier brew for the original Hardy Festival in 1968. It's unlikely any 
more  will be produced following the demise of Eldridge Pope, unless an 
independent  real ale brewery produces its own version.
 
My bottle does not give the alcoholic strength, which I believe is now a  
legal requirement, but it may well be stronger than ordinary beers. The label 
on  the back says it will last at least 25 years, but at 32 years old it 
may be past  its best.
