How fascinating, Rebecca. What a find!. I wonder if DNA testing will also
reveal whether these were Celt victims or not. It would be somewhat
gratifying to discover that they were in fact the bodies of Roman invaders
(hobnailed boots being retained for other business perhaps) --local
victories over the invaders being so sadly outnumbered. Also curious is
the mass grave -- wasn't it customary for the Roman to take their conquests
into slavery?
Is there further reading on this you can suggest?
