Yes-- Hardy's mum stayed on til her death (much later). I'm not sure but I 
think the lease could extend to spouses depending on how it was written or 
the goodwill of the lease owner -- not sure which.

But Jemima definitely lived there til she died and TH went every Sunday to 
visit her - when he also pruned trees and so on.
