Welcome to the forum, you will find the people here friendly and very
helpful, so don't hesitate to ask anything.
As for Sparknotes.com many people will probably advise not to use them,
but... I occasionally use Sparknotes myself purely for a 'push' in the right
direction. If you are little stuck on an idea then they can be useful, as
can the character analyses, which takes some of the hard work out of reading
these novels.
My personal advise is to use them, read and digest them, and then make up
your own mind. You can never beat reading and analysing the actual text,
after all that is what it's all about.
Kind regards

Another thing I wanted to discuss here was if taking help from
sparknotes.com would be wise thing to do or not. My sense of literature is
very bad and more often than not I fail to understand the significance of
events or happenings. Then I have a difficulty in understanding culture
prevalent in those times and the geographical and historical details too.
