[hardy-l] Tess Conclusion

That's very interesting Tony. We know that Hardy had to write several 
versions of *Tess* to get by the censors so do you think the *Graphic* 
demanded that ending or does it exist in MS form?  The "President of the 
Immortals" (phrase) features in the 1st edition (and onward) so either 
Hardy restored it from his original MS or revised the  *Graphic" ending 
when preparing the 1st edition.  Can anyone throw further light on this?
