[hardy-l] Tess Conclusion

Hello all--

 

Doesn't Mary Ellen Chase compare the endings from the original serial to the novel editions in her Thomas Hardy from Serial to Novel (1927)?  I don't have a copy here at home to reply in more detail, but this is a well-known monograph about the topic so others may have it closer to hand.
