What fun one may have interpreting the poet's words.
(First you give us anthropowotsit. Now it's 
achristosumthin.)
All very entertaining but I can't see any 
relevance to Christianity in Hardy's poem 
unless you choose to see deliberate profanity 
in the title.
The self-mockery of the early verses is, as Betty 
has said, redeemed by the profundity of the last.
This is where I find the religious significance to lie.

        I've, rather belatedly, looked up 'Christology' and a better fit to what I, and I think Bill Needham, is suggesting is atheological and so an 'achristological reading' might be more appropriate, even if it doesn't exist as a word.
