I  agree Eric. The  definite article establishes the link since one can 
apply the indefinite article to  "full-fugued song"  but not 
(conventionally) to "universe." There is also an added force here: the 
definite article can denote  things already mentioned ( music and space), 
or from the nature of the case, actually or potentially existent,  or 
unique. This brings me back to a point I mentioned earlier: that the 
speaker is also thinking of the song of the universe as blending all songs 
and sounds  --- in infinitude.
